So now it is January and many months have gone by, the class is a go. The first order is in, and the moulding has been in process for a long while. After the original was replicated in a mold, hundreds of the little pieces were made in brass. We had to figure out how to attach them to a box and with what. Source those tacks and find that they are only made in brass as well.
Then all the brass pieces were in one place and the tinning process had to start. That is also not simple at all. But I will talk about that another time.
So now the pieces all looked dull silver – wow. They were put in the box and arrived
on my doorstep ready for packaging into little bags for the class kits. I breathed a huge sign of relief at the final product. It looks old. In the right way.
And now I could sleep at night, hardware is under control. While there is still much work to be done in that department, I knew that we could go from idea to finished product and it looks right. The rest is now on a schedule to be made.
I hope you like them!
Tricia
PS. There are tacks AND screws for the full casket.

I like the etchings and the fact that the brass is not to bright.
I like! You say these are for the box we will make during the course? How long do we have to wait now? I feel like a kiddy who has just seen the first Christmas decorations in the shops – in September. I can’t wait for Christmas but it seems such a long, long way away.
Oh, they are just beautiful….I can’t wait to get my hot little paws on them…..I’ll try to be patient, like a good little girl. I never imagined this box would be so detailed. I hope my embroidery skills will do it all justice. Those original little girls made them in a year or two- can I?
Yes, I like them very much.
Gorgeous. I’ve been watching to see if you decided to go with screws or tacks, and from the photo, I’m thinking you made a decision… interesting – I’d bet myself it would be the other way.

It is wrong to covet earthly things…but you are making it soooo difficult Tricia. I cant wait to start! xoxo rachael
I can’t think of anything much to say except “WOW!” It’ all so wonderful!!!
Thank you so much for including both the tacks and screws. A wise and prudent decision. This class is such a blessing to me. It could not have been perfectly timed. Thank you.
ooooh, I can’t wait!
I can’t wait to get my *one* pretty escutcheon in my hands… what fun it must be to run your hands through a whole box of them! I’m sure the photo doesn’t do them justice!
